Someone mentioned to me this morning about Hanchurch Wood for a bike ride. Info seems a bit sparce on this place though on looking into it.

If someone knows it could they post a bit of info like best place to park and a rough route which takes in the best bits.

Ta!

hey, hanchurch has got some top singletrack. i went down on sunday but it was really muddy but still good fun.

theres a car park in the centre of the woods just off the road on the left.

if your on the car park just follow the perimeter all the way around the woods, its about 6 miles of singletrack but there loads of other routes you can fellow so you could just go with the flow.

heres a website you may find useful http://www.dkeegan.freeserve.co.uk/TRAIL2.htm

    hope this helps

I used to do a loop round there often when i lived in keele village, start there and go through the uni grounds, up past the observatory and along the singletrack into the woods, come out where the woods partys are by the access road, go under the M6, along buttermere rd into acton and then drop into hanchurch.

You can do a figure 8 loop in the woods and crosss over the road and there is some good trails over there, go past the water tower and follow the track etc etc.

The best way is to get out there and play, it takes a few rides there to find all the trails really
Look how cool i am, i have this bike, that bike and tuther bike! Wow!!!

I used to get up to Hanchurch about 4 years ago when I lived in Stoke on Trent and really enjoyed it. As said before, have a ride round, have a play and see what you can find that suits you!
