Potential energy source from the obese and criminals

No, not quite like that! I was reading the mirror online about how obesity has gone mental in this country - no suprise there. The thing is the obese dont often care about their weight in my own observation, or feel too shy to tackle it.
I then found an article on CNN UK (yes, thats right, I cant sleep, hehe) about a guy that has adapted a cycle to generate electricity. I've been saying for years that cycles and exercise equipment could be used to do this... perhaps its only now people are starting to realise, despite the usual detractions, that this could work.
We've got hundreds of people in prison as the result of their own selfishness... perhaps we could force them to generate our electricity in a similar way? Seems logical to me - why should you sit on your **** smoking weed while we struggle to pay for your upkeep Mr Child Molester, Mr Burglar and Mr Car Theif!?

It is a good idea but you will probably be infringing on their human rights so won't happen.
You should probably start your campaign aimed at people who voluntarilly exercise in gyms etc and then go for the scum later once you have a proof of concept .17 Stone down to 12.5 now raring to get back on the bike!0 -

Perhaps because it is you the taxpayer that forces Mr Car thief etc to be in prison that you have to pay for his incarceration.
I'm sure that Mr Car thief and hisfriends would ratrher not spend their time incarcerated for their crimes.
You can't realistically expect someone to be locked up against their will and to have to pay for it.
HOWEVER- whilst wehave an obligation to provide food/ warmth etc we do not have an obligation to provide TVs/ play stations etc - perhaps these should have to be earned by using the methods suggested above.
Similarily with regards to the unemployed who are physically capable of work- perhaps they should be required to do such exercise to either eanr their benefits or to top up the benefit to a slightly higher level....Want to know the Spen666 behind the posts?

So I take it then that those who have been convicted of crimes they didn't commit and spent years in jail, and have then been fully cleared, are not likely to find deductions made from whatever award they get for say provisions of food, shelter and clothing while in prison?'Twas Mulga Bill, from Eaglehawk, that caught the cycling craze....0 -

Whilst burning witches would generate heat they are carbon-based life forms and therefore will release CO2 into the atmosphere, thereby annoying Al Gore...Head Hands Heart Lungs Legs0
