For those thinking of buying a workstand . . . .

Earlier this afternoon I took delivery of my new Park Tools PCS-10 workstand from CRC. It couldn't of come at a better time as I'd just got back from a ride and the bike was filthy. All I had to do was assemble it and away I go!
Well, to say this thing is well made is an understatement. Sweet baby Jesus this thing is made of well painted scaffold bars! Every piece of the self assembly kit screams quality and I couldn't wait to use it in anger.
What a difference it makes to cleaning and reps. It might sound daft but it was a pleasure clean and to get into all the nooks and crannies I'd never really looked into before. I thoroughly enjoyed myself and it felt great having no back ache after
If anyones considering getting one of these - go for it. I know it's touching a hundred quid but the quality of this equipment is amazing. It will outlast some bikes I've had I'm telling ya. It it makes maintenance an absolute doddle. Do what I've done and have it for Christmas/Birthday. Now I've just got to put the bloody thing away so my gf can give it to me as a present
Just thought I'd share my experience as I know there's been a couple of posts up. Me being one of them!

TBH any decent, cheaper stand would do you just as well. But it's nice to have nice things 8)Uncompromising extremist0

i just bought my dad a parktool stand for his b-day and agree with its quality. the bike shop i bought it from said they got the same one as a temporary when they first got their shop and kept it cause its so good, well does the job anyway. i paid to much for it cause i left it till the last minute but didnt mind really cause its a nice bit of kit and well worth it."My life is like a porno-movie, without the sex".0

I could do with buying a decent stand, I'll have to check out the Park ones.
At the moment I'm using a cymbal stand from my drum kit with a clamp to replicate a bike stand, does the job but it's a bit overkill.0 -
