Garmin GPS - 605 or Oregon

I'm wanting to buy a GPS and have been looking at the Garmin 705. Noticed in the new MBR an advert for a Garmin Oregon. Anybody had any experience of these - they look like they can display OS maps (cannot justify £300 on a SatMap and heard very mixed reports about them) and similar price to 605.

At moment still think 605 with free OpenStreetMap maps added but any throughts / opinions appreciated
