    While rapid growth and demand led to premature large scale manufacture, Norsk Hydro simply closed the company after Kirk sold it to them. Some say they just wanted the knowledge and technology in order to prove they could rapidly cast engines and gearboxes in the same material. I'm nor sure how true that is, but Kirk Precision had survived for 10 years up until Norsk Hydro bought the company.
