Anybody had any of these in the back? I've got a few in various parts of my spine and hip tomorrow and I'm a little worried. I had one in my foot 2 weeks ago and it did nothing...well apart from throb for a bit then it was back to normal old pain!

  • That sounds nasty.
Never had any cortisone myself, though I was offered it once during an epic rock climbing induced bout of tendonitis in my shoulders.
My doctor friends advised me it wouldn't be worth the pain involved in having the injections in my case.
I hope it sorts your back out.

Cortisone injections were commonly used in professional football up until probably the late 1980s ( if not later).

Man footballers from 1970s & 1980s are now crippled as a result of playing when injured after cortisone injections

  • Well just got back, one word Oww

It's the local anathestic that done it for me not the actual cortisone as it was nice and dead when those needles went in!!!

Now I feel well and truly pi$$ed from the sedatives and now the local's wearing off, my back felels like it 's been hit with a sledgehammer.

    Let's hope it's worth it!?!?!??!

I've had injections in both shoulders. Totally painless (not much tissue to go through to get to the bursae) and didn't really help.

    Good luck.
