New Balance trainers (can you commute in them)
Jordan (not the large breasted "model", but the country)
Sales (Chainreaction's flood sale)

  • I was only there for a day, but Jordan seemed nice.

Only fools commute in anything other than carbon soled cycling shoes.

Fenders keep mud from spraying up your back.

Sales are merely retailers' way of selling things closer to what they should cost.

    Howzat?

They're cycling distance from me :)

Wonder if I can take a half day tomorrow for the opening? Hmm.
Today is a good day to ride

gtvlusso - what do you want to know about Jordan?

I rode on SPDs for two years with New Balance trainers! They had a handy gap in the sole which stabilized, to a certain extent, the SPD platform, and obviously I was very aware of slipping of and very careful about how I put the power down. never had an accident as a result.
  • I've got to get a lemon drizzle cake to work on Monday (I'm making it all me self innit) in one piece. Sods law will be that a car cuts me up on the way. Any ideas on protecting it?

Yes good idea but what about the wind resistance?

At last, an important, relevant question on this Forum.

Are you making a loaf shaped drizzle cake or a round one? I make a loaf shaped one - much easier to carry as it'll easily go into a pannier or rucksack.

Oh, and ice it when you get to work... :)

A lemon drizzle cake would need icing as soon as it comes out of the oven, otherwise the drizzle won't work in the correct way. But as the icing doesn't stand proud of the cake and is an integral part of it, I think it'd be ok.

But as L-i-T pointed out me when I had the same dilemma with a carrot cake, icing that at work was of course the only logical and sensible thing. Which I did.

I managed to get my carrot cake (uniced) to work in a solid plastic cake box just strapped to the back of my bike.

Fender Electric Guitars Circa 1962 (and the carrying of on a bicycle) Dunno but my Dad has a lovely collection of old Fender bass guitars. He taught Phil Lynett to play guitar and done session stuff with Mr B Marley and Free.
New Balance trainers (can you commute in them) I used Asics trainers for years. No problems but a bit bendy.
Jordan (not the large breasted "model", but the country). It's hot.
Sales (Chainreaction's flood sale). A few have complained about their good being too damaged to be any use. A risky one.

Bonzer. A shape of surfboard with double concave merging into single. Very loose indeed but prone to spinning out when cranking a bottom turn really hard.

You're right, of course. My limited repertoire of cakes doesn't include a lemon drizzle...

At last, an issue where I have real insight - my Mrs often bakes me lemon drizzle cake to take into work (I know, I'm very lucky, and very popular at work). Always loaf shaped, as Coriander suggests, for easy packing. Make sure it's wrapped in greaseproof paper, then an outer layer of kitchen foil. And don't fall off your bike.

Never mind the wind resistance......it is the added danger of rotational brain injury that I would be worried about
