whtye 46 2007 geometry

hiya, ive got a 2007 whtye 46 that ive been runing in the higher bolt hole setting for the suspension. i would like to know the differences in handling i could expect if i used the lower setting? been riding a lot of the welsh trails espicially afan, the bike is very stable on the downs but a little slow to turn gonna fit a shorter stem (stock one fitted is 100mm) but would changing to the lower bolt hole also sharpen up the steering ? thanks in advance for any help. trevor
