Just stuck a load of retro reflective tape on my bike, been meaning to do it for a year, but I finally bought some more tape today, and got round to doing it!
Just in case you were wondering how much difference a few bits of tape make
So if you see me, say hello

Thats pretty sweet looking. You could put some on the handle bar or the front to show more movement, but I guess it'll work ok from the forks. 8)0

I like it! All you need now is some tinsel on your frame!
The reflective tape will be good if you go on roads when it is dark! 8)0 -
I've got my front light on the handlbars
But the pic was to see what my bike would look like without any lights
Putting the tape on the forks wasn't my idea, I saw a cyclist in Kent riding along at night..well actually I saw two vertical lights coming towards my car and couldn't work out what it was!!! So I slowed down as I approached, and it was a bike with two bits of tape on the forks, it really caught my eye and I've been meaning to nick the idea for a while0 -

Where do you buy the tape from Snooks?0
-
Being a boaty sort I bought it from a Chandlery, it's SOLAS approved it's for lifebuoys!!
If you google "SOLAS retro reflective tape" you'll find it...it's not cheap though, but that's about 40cm worth
http://www.oceanleisure.co.uk/ should have some if you're in town 8)0 -
Too right it's not cheap - first site I found sold it by the roll - at $225!
Managed to find one that sold it by the metre, for under a fiver 8)
Thanks0 -

Aha - the strips on there are perfect.
(Yes I know that to make 1m into strips I only have to cut it up, but with the strips I only have to stick them)0 -
Hmph. I can get 1m for 4.90, or 6 strips for £6.99. Boith will cost me about 4 quid for p&P0

Snooks - great find. I just bought some "reflective" tape from Evans. I was going to take it back on the basis that I had mistakenly been given white insulating tape. I was looking for something to plonk on the seat stays and head tube.FCN 2-4.

My LBS used to do a special pack for a couple of quid, all precut shapes and sizes. They were printed on A4 sheets. Dont know how permanent they were though0

All sorts here - just remember to click the free p&p... The HI-VIZ Respro stuff is fiercely sticky:

Hmm LBS was cheaper for the Respro (thats the ones they had). Dont need to worry about delivery - just pop in and pay 8 quid.0 -

I got my Scotchlite tape straight from the horse's mouth as it were - 3M's own web shop as I didn't like the price of the respro stuff at wiggle and got confused by all the listings on ebay which seemed to be either sew-on or massive and for writing giant motorway signs. NB, the Scotchlite stuff is silvery grey, not white, for those concerned about colour coordination.0
