Recommended shock pump?

Believe it or not, with me and my mate Ian, I'm the brains of the operation... He's just got himself a set of Tora solo air forks, and he just asked me if he needs a shock pump for them (I get to fit them, lucky me). I haven't a clue, but it looks like the answer's yes, but I'm also wondering if this is the sort of thing you should carry around with you- do you ever need one out on the trail, other than if you decide to make an adjustment?

If it's the latter, I'm inclined to get him one of these:

Since that'll do both shocks and tyres, and I don't think he has a pump- he always borrows mine :roll:

Any advice/comments here? The ideal pump will be small, light, reliable and cheap

get one with a gauge suitable for the application. Forks up to 100psi gauge shocks up to 300 psi gauge.

So is a 300psi pump not suited for forks then?

yes but will not be as accurate for fine tuning ie down to the last psi ,but the 300psi will more than do the job you need it too..

as for the pump wrench force make the best shock/fork pumps for the money.

did he buy them new? i thought all air rockshox forks came with a pump :?

From the Chain Reaction flood sale so I think all he gets is the forks. But maybe not- to be honest it never occurred to me they might come with one. Guess we'll find out if they ever post 'em...
