Kloeden enters Armstrong-Gerdemann row

"Armstrong, who will join former Team Manager Johan Bruyneel and Klöden at Team Astana, responded to Gerdemann's rumoured remarks. He threatened to chase Gerdemann if he tried to join an escape group. Klöden reminded Gerdemann that he would need "friends in the peloton," and that Armstrong would not be one of them; "Lance was angry."
Lance seems to have forgotten the correct nomeclature already - it's "follow the wheel", not "chase"...
Astana - what a lovely bunch of lads.

Cycling News described this as a " generational battle". You can see why the Klöden/Armstrong generation is no longer welcome.0 -
Watch it Linus - don't wanna get LA angry!
Gee, how sad he must feel if he can't count Lance among 'his friends'.0 -
I'm thinking that Gerdemann is going to find all of this terrifically motivating training-wise. Isn't he just the sort of rider who might well teach an aging LA a lesson under the right circumstances? I'll bet he's on the turbo right now with a big picture of Lance on the wall in front him and enough motivation to sink a battleship...0

if that quote is substantiated ("he threatened to chase") then I think this needs bringing up in the "questions for Lance" thread. or would, if it hadn't got out of control.
Anyway, this will be decided in Le Grand Bornand next summer. . LG and LA won one each of the last two stages ending there...
Kloden in contrast could/should have won one, but he wasn't good enough, so Lance stepped in.0
