Evening all,
Could someone please tell me what size spacer I need to fit a standard Shimano 7 sprocket cassette onto a Shimano Doere M495 hub that is only 8/9 speed compatible?
Which one out of these will fit: http://www.petracycles.co.uk/advanced_s ... r+sprocket
Thanks!

He would needf a new wheel if has a screw on block.0

and he might be fitting a new 7spd cassette to the new hub. and keeping the shifters as they are.
Side note you WILL need new spokes.
I would not bother rebuilding the the old rim just get a new wheel.
will your frame take the wider hub?"Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."

I have a modern 130mm rear wheel on an older 126mm ,spaced steel frame. If its steel you can pull the dropouts apart when you stick the wheel in.Its a bit of a faff but it works.
