Hi,

Does anyone have an opinion on the suitability of Reynolds "Cantiflex" frame tubing for a touring bike? I will be making a touring frame for a friend, and will have the opportunity to use a "new old stock" Cantiflex tubeset. I don't yet know what the wall thicknesses are.

Any ideas?

I am also interested in this tube set but I can't add anything other than I was considering for a touring machine.

Cantiflex - is this is where the middle of the tubes are larger in diameter than the ends? - in the days of standard lugs it might have been a way of getting a stronger frame, but less sure of the advantages in the days of TIG welding - many modern frames have flared tubes at the headtube and BB which is contrary to the idea.
Make mine an Italian, with Campagnolo on the side..

Would a traditional lugged steel touring frame benefit?
