Any gamers? Little Big Planet

I know there were a few kicking around in the past.

Anyone else having their minds blown by Little Big Planet? It's one of the most astonishing pieces of work I've seen. And I've not even tried to create my own content. And it's such a relief to play something which isn't a FPS.

I know I should've tried Fallout 3 by now but I'm limited in time...

Anyone else playing anything they rate?

Assassin's Creed. I'm just back to gaming having bought an X-Box 360. I'm seriously impressed by the graphics - last console was the original Playstation. The storyline is a bit repetitive, but the increasing level of difficuly makes up for it. Now waiting for the sequel.

I'm not up with the lingo, what does FPS mean Iain?

Usually I play role playing games like Tomb Raider, Resident Evil etc, but I'm getting into the shoot-em-ups. I'm re-playing Halo 3 ATM, but that doesn't need a recommendation.

I'll be waiting until the New Year to get another game - gaming takes over my life. :(

Finished Assasin's Creed on the PC just the other week and was sad for it to end. Fantastic graphics and once you get through the tutorial a fairly decent interface.
Though I hate Ubisoft's lack of demos and their cut scenes I thoroughly enjoyed Asssain's Creed.

Currently playing Far Cry 2 and very underwhelmed. The multiplayer is nothing short of a disgrace in my opinion and the Storyline is in serious need of a patch (way beyond v1.01). In fact Far Cry 2 multiplayer sickened me so much I felt the need to play a bit of Call of Duty 4 and Battlefield 2.

I’m still playing Company of Heroes: Opposing Forces (multiplayer and skirmish) which for me is one of the finest games made and I’m continuing to accumulate the laps in GTR 2.

    Eagerly awating Football Manager 2009.

I was going to be playing FarCry 2 but the performance is slower for me in DX10 ultra high at 1680x1050, only averaging 30fps, should be getting 50fps according to similar speced systems, DX9 I get 43 so unfortunately I'm not happy to play it.

I am playing TDU and Fallout 3 at the moment.

Oddly enough Far Cry 2 really flies on my rather mid-level machine (Intel® Core™ 2 Quad-Core Processor Q6600, 4GB 800MHz Dual Channel DDR2 SDRAM, 768MB nVidia® GeForce® 8800 GTX, 1920x1200 on a BenQ 24" FP241WZ) on ultra high DX10 whereas Crysis is an absolute dog. I really have to run Crysis on medium to get decent frame rates.

Eagerly anticiapted Far Cry 2 but I'm rather disappointed. The single player game could be really good but the re-populating enemy after you've driven 400 yards up the road is unforgiveable, particularly how time is so well rendered in-game.

Also playing a bit of PES 2009 on the PC but that too has been a disappointment. Hell, I'm even tempted to try that F word.

It is so buggy, I have a HD4870 512MB that is faster than an 8800GTX yet at 1680x1050 my fps is likely lower than yours at the higher res, takes the p***

FPS = First Person Shooter. What used to be called a shoot-em-up....

I've got to play games more. Gotta get a Windows install back on my PC so I can have a go at CoD, and at some point I _really_ should get round to getting the Orange Box.

Currently playing Fable II on the 360, great fun, have Fallout 3 lined up to play after that, which I've heard from a few people is meant to be rather good too.

Used to play some games, I really enjoyed FarCry (the original) but never had a system that would allow me to turn on all the tweaks. Now that I have I find that it runs Vista and so the game might not be compatible.

I always wanted to play Half Life 2 (because Half Life is my favourite game of all time - fabulous story) and when I bought it I was horrified by the digital distribution bollocks. Since I only have a 56k connection, this is a game that will be forever denied to me

There are a host of games out there that look amazing, but my poor PC just isn't up to it (4GB memory, quad core processor 2.2GHz, 512MB vid card). Seems to me that a console is the only way to experience high power gaming these days because the sheer cost of specifiying a PC that can do these games justice is prohibitive.

What do I ride? Now that's an Enigma!

    Digital distribution bollocks?

Online license verification, yes. Install off CD, it phones home and tells Valve that you're good, then lets you play.

I don't seem to be able to find the time to play all these new games.

2 or 3 hours of counterstrike seems to take up my free time.....

Far Cry 2 is a HUGE disappointment. Crysis was far better IMHO. I hate the size of everything on screen in Far Cry if that makes sense, character is rendered in too large a scale. Odd thing to annoy me I know but there you go. Plus the endless driving is a pain in the neck and side missions are repetitive.

Gears of War 2 has been fun and Dead Space was terrifying played in the dark with surround sound.

I'll give little big planet a go but not sure it's my thing.
