I dont think it will affect me too much, but I gather its for the school kids in the area to increase their safety which is cool. :)

  • My rudimentaty grasp of ecomonics does not enable me to comprehend how the cost might come to £1M and how, if a mile or so of boardwalk costs that much, it is worth it.

Part of me finds it faintly depressing.

  • That £1M cost, AT, will be padded out by obscene "consultancy" fees and H&S Outreach programmes. Not forgetting finding out if the boardwork falls within "Diversity" guidelines. When they re-opened a bridge down our way (largely due to local donations) £50,000 was found elsewhere to provide a tarmacced area where Prince Andrew could alight from his car without getting his shoes muddy.

Theres already a dirt path along there, so presume some of the money is to widen and lighten it. But yes, I reckon the blood.. er I mean... consultants have taken their fees. :?

I can't help wondering if the money would be better invested in campaigns to help all road users get along better.

I'm in Southampton but I don't think it will benefit us particularly
