Hi.Just wondering if anyone has any recommendations for shipping a bike. I'm looking to flog a bike on ebay so wondering if anyone knows who it'll be cheapest/best to send it with?
Thanks.

Try Parcel 2 Go, they use DHL to deliver but have the buying power of thousands giving greater discounts to the customers.

+1 for parcel2go. Looked at them when selling my old frame and their prices were good, didn't actually need their services as the buyer was local.
I've added a signature to prove it is still possible.

I used them in the summer; see this thread.
  • sent mine via parcelforce, long as box no longer than 150cm though. cost 10.99 plus 12.00 for insurance for value of up to £1000. Parcels2go were about double the price and DHL wanted £132 !
    Focus Cayo
    Planet x stealth
    Ritchey Breakaway Steel Cross
    Specialized Singlecross Fixed 46:16
  • i used them to send my old trek to me mate in plymouth from london
good service and not too expensive either
  • QE2
But I hear they sold her to the UAE to become a restaurant :D

P2G charged me quite a lot to send my bike because I left it to the night before to book it. I booked the return delivery a week in advance and it only cost me £9! I didn't bother with insurance because I checked with M&S and they said my bike insurance covered it in the post. Funnily enough P2G used DHL as the courier.

I've had issues with DHL. They lost a bloody pushchair. Packaged, its probably not much smaller than a bike would be and it has gone, never to be seen again for crying out loud!! This was in Febuary and they are still yet to pay out...crap customer service as well.

I now use www.senditnow.com who use parcel force and are about as cheap as I can find.

I use P2G all the time, they just provide a buying power more than yourself to get discounts on DHL's service. Never experienced any problems out of the 100+ orders that i have sent.
  • Cheers for all the advice. parcel2go look pretty good and they also give discound for ebay users. Now I just have to get round to sorting my bike out for sale.
