2nd claim club membership

I have no real experience of this with cycling clubs, but do with running clubs.
Generally you can compete for both clubs, in different events. However, if you are taking part in an event that both clubs are competing in, you have to be racing for your 1st claim club.0 -
Pretty certain that if you are first claim for a club in a discipline then you have to race for them in that discipline - it's not like running where if your A club aren't entered in a certain xc or race league you can race for club B. Certainly some people do race time trials and road races for different outfits.
You'd do better to ask on Veloriders I'm sure this has been discussed at length there but for a definitive answer phone BC.
it's a hard life if you don't weaken.0 -

When it comes to "Open Event" racing then 1st claim members only.
2nd claim members can ride (and subject to that clubs rules) and win prizes there and take part in all other club functions.
I don't think it has changed since my days as a rider/official.Organiser, National Championship 50 mile Time Trial 19720 -
Second claim membership normally entitles you only to ride club events promoted by that club and get the newsletter etc, but you can't race open events in their colours.
From British Cycling Road & Track Rules:
7.9.1 A rider may only be a first claim member of one club for all forms of road and track competition.
7.9.2 A competitor in an open event may only enter and compete in the name of his first claim club, as an individual member, or as a member of a National, Region or Association representative team.
