Hey I am upgrading the wheels on my Orange P7 S. Anyone know what the difference is between these two rims? I mostly ride local moorland and the red routes at Dalby and Whinlatter with the occasional black run thrown in. Cheers

  • hi there,

the 4.2 are lighter XC type rims while the 5.2 are heavier free ride rims, so i've been told. see the thread before this one

This is correct. If you do a fair amount of jumping, go for the 5.1. If not, the 4.2 will be better. The 'd' means 'disc-specific', in other words, they don't take rim brakes.
