Guys, Anyone got a XCPro?
Looking to replace my 20" Kraken frame with the above but not sure what size to get and none of my LBS's have any in stock to compare.
I'm 6ft 2 and the Kraken fits pretty well with a nice stretched out feel.
Also 20% off at Wiggle:

I was in the process of re-building my old Kraken as a second bike - I loved it as a good all-rounder BUT have just bought a used maxlight xc120 to play with instead.
Not quite as sweet as the xc pro, but I laughed when comparing the weight of the stripped Kraken to the weight of the Maxlight.
It will feel like a rocket ship in comparison !!!!!
Can't wait to get it built - I've been full suss for too long.

Cheers Pez,
More questions;
How tall are you?
What size was your Kraken?
And what size Maxlight have you gone for?
Cheers0 -
Have you looked at the Kinesis MAxlight XC120? I have one of these and love it! Although the carbon "rear end" will give it a springier ride, its weaker than aluminium no matter what anyone says about carbon fibre. I think the weights are similar aswell, but the XC120 will be about £100 cheaper.0

I'm 5' 11" and went for the 19" frame which might be a tad on the large size for me, if I were you th 50cm / 20" frame should be fine for your height. Good saving on Wiggle, I paid full whack for my frame.
Not sure the carbon rear end makes a lot of difference personally (but then I am more used to full suss) does look bling though.
I got my frame in the white which I still love, only downsides are it's a b*gger to clean. The paint jobs on these frames are very hard so won't scratch but does chip very easily so make sure you protect any parts like to suffer damage before you ride it (e.g. chains stay and down tube). It's easier to ask for forgiveness than for permission.
I've bought a new bike....ouch - result
Can I buy a new bike?...No - no result0 -
Cheers guys, I don'd think I can get the Xc120 as my Reba fork is 85mm and will probably mess up the geometry.
Stumpyjon, before you said that I must admit I was thinking of going for the 54 frame, might now have to rethink, although comparing the top tube lengths with my Kracken the 54 is the closest.
Also pleased to hear you say that the paint job was tough as I have heard complaints about this previously.0 -
The paint job is hard, it chips very easily but doesn't scratch (mine has loads chipped back to the bare aluminium, particularly around the dropouts). It's easier to ask for forgiveness than for permission.
