Handlebar question

I have flat bars on my commuter bike and I think they are too wide for me as the natural position for my hands is about 2 to 3 of inches inwards from the end of the handle bars.
My question is, are all flat bars the same standard langth or can you get narrower ones?
As well as being a better fit for me, I think that narrower bars might help in squeezing through the London traffic.

Aha, you want the tiny tiny handlebars that couriers and fakengers use.

Unless, of course, you're not actually a tw*t

yes you can get narrower bars. Or you can cut your current ones down to the width you want.

As the in-house lawyer around here I think I'd better clarify RWs comment, he is of course referring to hacksawing your handlebars rather than your hands!

    ithankyou

Spen, you surprise me - I wouldn't have imagined you rocking the fakenger look! Crusty old fella with dubious stains on his anorak riding a 1940s butcher's bike, that's more how I picture you.

Yep I think I might just do that.
