That photo of the empty plate seems quite appropriate - didn't your avatar say "Crumbs, DM!" quite a lot?

I need to stop eating chocolate biscuits and cycle to work at least once a week.

This will require more determination than you could possibly imagine

Can you all nag me please?

    Thank you :D

I wouldn't concentrate on biscuits. I would rather go cycle. If you cycle often, you won't need much determination to adjust you diet. You will find better food to refill your energy.
If you like buiscuits, no problem, just add few more km.

I used to like chocolate bars, now I can't even look at them. Oatmeal porridge!

That's a nice theory, but in practice it doesn't always work out that way.

Admittedly I've had an eating disorder until very recently, but I started running about 2 years ago, and do quite high mileage (sometimes 100 miles a week) yet my eating has got worse, in terms of quality and quantity.

I agree Jen, I used all the cycling (500 miles since start of school year) as an excuse to eat rubbish. I am undoubtedly slimmer but have fat stores whcih are annoying me.

Hmm my good intentions slightly thwarted for commute tomorrow by 46mph winds and heavy rain forecast.....

Go on - someone say it......

And then tell me you'd cycle 12 miles in it.

Had an interesting debate with Mr linsen about how many bikes one really needs, and so I pointed out that all his music and windsurfing stuff takes up far more room than my measly bike collection.
Need to save a little I think.....

When, not if, you do get Monica the monaco then you'll have to say goodbye to Gladys. I know it will be a sad day in the Linsen household but these days do come. The money you save on chocolate digestives etc can be put towards the new bike/placating Mr Linsen.

    Monaco??

    As in:

    9094-94_LANG_Monaco_d.jpg

This years model is Green, and next years is silver, unless it's another special edition such as the London one, I think that was red and white too.

Lindsey - are you aware you have naff all chance of fitting guards on the aforesaidmentiond steed?

    Yes that's the one.
I know no mudguards - as you can probably gather I'm after SEVERAL new bikes - aiming for one for every day of the week

    Oooh how exciting!

Well keep us posted, and might be worth testing it sooner that later, they tend to sell pretty quick....

Have you seen it in the metal yet?? Do you think the pictures don't do it justice?

ITBoffin, have you collected your Monaco yet??
HarryB has bought one as well I believe!

You could fit SKS race blades. I've got them on my Pearson. Just watch out for toe overlap on the front...

When I first read this I thought it said "replacing Mr linsen" - seemed a little harsh....

Hey I can understand riding a bike with no gears but surely no pedals is pushing it a little too far?

No date as yet - of course I will keep you posted.....

Today I did two bikings and had two biscuits.

I just looked on the weatehr forecast for tomorrow and saw a yellow circle with lines coming out of it.

As I am a "fair weather" cyclist (at least that's what I'll have you believe), I shall be on the bike at 7 in the morning.

There, I can't get out of it now.....
