Stolen Bike

My white 07 DMR drone was stolen from my university campus while I was working. I’d left it less than 2 hours, while I was in the studio, it was locked to the bike racks with a combination lock which had been cut and left on the floor.

I was wondering how common this is and how best to prevent it? Or if anyone else had had there bike stolen?

Yep, mine was nicked, and they took the lock too!

I now have a heavy 'gold' rated ABUS lock, and am very careful to only lock it to things which are secure.

Also, check with your/your parents' home insurance - you may well be able to claim.

its insured so it should get my money, i've told the police but...
just looked on you tube at "bike lock" its scarey how easy it looks to hack locks.
where was your bike when it was stolen?

My back garden. 7 foot walls all the way round, and a 7 foot locked gate.

I use a Kryptonite Evolution mini to secure the rear wheel when popping in to supermarkets etc.

If I'm leaving the bike for a whole day I'd use an extra cable lock to secure the front wheel and loop through the D-lock
