yes it is another light thread!
just got a hold of two nice torches, fitting one to the bike piece of cake. jubilees and some inner tube all looks good.
getting one to stick to my lid is another matter can't seem to get a sturdy connection without using 20 cable ties and even then it prob wouldnt be very good.
any good ideas i'm hoping to try the buggers out tomoz night.
please don't shout at me for buying non bike bits and not knowing how to bodge it up

Deal Extreme do cheap mounts that fit both bars and helmets. The helmet one is about $2usd delivered...

Survived Mountain Mayhem and Cheddar Bikefest. A bit of inner tube added to the bar mount gives more grip0 -

The way I do mine, is to sheath the torch with two layers of old innertube, this gives it a non-slip, padded surface, then strap it to the vents with a couple of velcro ties. It just takes a bit of trial and error to get the positioning right.Northwind wrote: It's like I covered it in superglue and rode it through ebay.0

Use a single zip tie. Job done.0

Similar to BorisSpencer ^^^, I've cut a section of handlebar grip ( like a fat rubber hoola-hoop ) and put it over the torch. I use a velco strap over this, through the helmet's air vents, to secure the torch to the helmet. I got a 2 metre roll of the strap at B&Q. Fuzzy 1 side, hooky on the other. The rubber bit helps keep tension on the strap and it stays secure. Reusable and tool-free removal. I got fed up cutting cable ties.
EDIT:
I had just jammed the torch into one of the air vents/channels and it was aligned fine.
Realised that if I crashed and hit my head then the torch might kill me
Just thought I'd mention it in case anyone else is doing this.0 -
a couple of bits of foam rubber and some knicker elastic keeps my tesco AA very secure0

I used some pipe insulation and a wratchet type strap from a defunct bike rack0

cheers for suggestions people.
remembered i had some velcro cable ties kicking about (thanks ibm) and after giving the torch a double inner tube coat all is as solid as can be. i made a couple of plates out of some thin polycarbonate for the ties to attach to inside the helmet.
surprised by how simple and how good this works its great. off out tonight then woohoo.0 -
I just use a bit of velcro- but only because I have velcro tape lying around, wouldn't be worth buying just for this. It does look a bit odd with the lights not atached though.Uncompromising extremist0

I like that one ^^. Could you share what the bits are/where you got them from/how much?"Melancholy is incompatible with bicycling." ~James E. Starrs0

This is my torch mount got it from dealextreme cost me £1.42 posted been used lots of times and it hasnt slipped yet. It has 2 velcro straps 1 for the torch and 1 that goes round a helmet bar with a soft rubber block. Now the exchange rate has gone tits up it might cost a bit more but only pennies
