hi, im not exactly new to mtbing, but in terms of knowledge i know very little so i was wondering if any of you could help me with a few questions.

First off ive just got a new GT tempest 2 as my Chucker was stolen, now its got the same RST Launch R8 forks as the Chucker and im not keen on them, so does anyone know of good replacements?

The next question is how do i know what size steerer tube to get because the RST has
28. 6/25. 4 < took the size from CRC and i have no idea what measurement there using.

And the last question does anyone know how good Evans cycles is?

thanks

The steerer will be 1 1/8"

    A Tora fork (any)

OK depends which one you are close to.

you do not convert it is what it is and yes " is inches.

fork steerers are all measured in inches.

nope you need a fork with a 1 1/8" steerer tube that is of the correct length or longer.

A 1" steerer tubed fork could be used with a new headset and reducer cups.
A 1 1/4" steerered fork would not fit (they are rare anyway)
A 1.5" steererd fork will not fit.

If it is longer than what you have atm, get some spacers to pack up the steerer tube. You can put them either above or below the stem to raise or lower the height of your bars. You can get a longer steerer tube and just put spacers to make it fit but you can't get shorter. Spacers are dirt cheap
