My first "on the road" puncture for over a year

I've had a two where I've gone to get the bike from the shed and the tyre's a bit soft, but this morning I got a proper puncture whilst out on the road, so for the first time in a while was the guy you cycle past with a little shrug on your shoulders.

I was always nervous of getting one on my skinny tyres, having been on fat ones before, but it went down slowly for me. Not looking forward to a blow out on the skinnies though.

Couldn't find the invasive which is always a nightmare, but it looked like something went in and out of an existing cut, anyway it didn't puncture again.

Managed to get the tyre up to 70psi with my hand pump before I gave up.

And strangly this was the first time ever I'd left my multi tool out of my bag, said multitool with useful picky thing for getting buried stones out.

Why is getting a puncture on skinnies any worse?

Less of a warning before you're bumping around on the rims I guess, so if you're going at 24 mph you've got less time to detect the situation and come to a halt before you're flung off (?)

I'm guessing, it's not happened yet.
