Hi there, I'm a newcomer to the site and just wanted to ask... what route would members recommend from Waterloo to Canary Wharf?

I ride currently ride a Brompton to Finsbury Square. Incidentally, the best route here is Southwark Street, over Southwark Bridge, then risk life an limb crossing Upper Bank St.

Thanks. Stuart

Depends where you want to cross the river (westminster then hit the embankment?) I think the cable street cycle path is your best bet after that
I prefer the A13 myself as it's faster

go along The Cut/Union St or Southwark st to London Bridge, then Tooley St, across tower bridge. Then according to your nerve, along The Highway or use Cable St, then Commercial Rd or Narrow St to Dog Island.
  • Have you tried TFL's journey planner? You just put the postcodes in, and it'll give you the "best" route. I used it when I first started commuting, as I didn't know the way at all, and have since modified it.
