I'm thinking of entering the Test Valley Tour. Is anyone doing this, is it worth the small trip down from Reading?

  • I have done it a couple of times in the past. I am sure it will be worth the drive from Reading. It is organised by Gorrick, who have a heap of experience in organising events, so organisation is normally top notch. There is normally a real mix of people taking part.

Most of the ride is one bridleways, so don't expect lots of singletrack - however I think this year they may have permission from local land owners to use other paths, which could be interesting. There is always a nice section through a woods (I think it is Bourne Woods) which is nice twisty singletrack.

Normally well signposted, so you don't really have to look at the map.

Sounds very much like the Evans events. They are quite fun as well - not much singletrack, but you get to explore a new area (if you don't live there).
