Is this safe to ride?

I have used my CycloOps MAg+ trainer about 8 or 9 times now with my tariniung bike (Dawes Giro 500).
I plan to ride on the bike on Friday and noticed that the rear tyre has a bald bit in the middle where the mag has been rolling. It has worn the tread smooth!
Now reading this forum, I now know that I should use a seperate wheel or training tyre!
Is it safe to ride with this bit in the middle worn still though? Will I notice any loss of grip?

No change of grip, but you will be more prone to punctures.Carlsberg don't make cycle clothing, but if they did it would probably still not be as good as Assos0

You'll be fine, smooth tyres grip the road better than treaded ones anyway, just be extra careful on road paint, ironworks and leaves.
And I'd carry an extra innertube too!0 -
youll probably need one of them orange tyres. the same thing happened to me earlier in the year I carried on using tyre for a while with no trouble. its just that about 1000 miles of wear happens in half an hour0
