I do about 7-8 hours riding a week, 2 hours running and if the surf is up, up to 10 hours surfing (or more) plus 2 hours weights (at home) including heavy bag work.

It's a vital part of life!

I do a bit of warm up in the house before I leave, then a slow start and end to the ride with some mild stretching afterwards (because it feels good). I maybe have a slice of toast and an espresso before I leave (~45min one way) then some porridge with fruit/nuts when I get into work. I'm always starving hungry on cycle days  About an hour before I leave for home I'll munch some more fruit too, likely a banana, and get a load of water in. When I get home it's more stretching and I try to get a protein/carb balanced meal ASAP.

Crikey, that sounds pretty serious to me. I never realised!
Today is a good day to ride

    Freaks?

So what are you having for dinner tonight then? Seed pie? Seeds and a side serving of seeds? Seed curry? Stir fried seeds?

All washed down with a few pints of water?

It is diffucult to explain how much I don't understand this, or indeed how much it has caused me to giggle.

Understanding is not necessary. As long as it made you laugh, job done.

Just back from the 1st diet fueled ride, not bad actually no loss of power, best things after you get back from a long ride is a nice cuppa and some cake, oh wait... NO NO it can be!?!

Oh my god that's some kind of ungodly fake pasta & celery with BEANS!

I thought that looked really nice until I saw the mention of fake pasta.

    What exactly *is* fake pasta?

  • It's got carrots in it. Ugh.

ITB, your diet sounds pretty darn good actually. I like beans and pulses, me.

If you wanted to play a cruel practical joke on someone, a pile of rubber bands might make a convincing tagliatelle substitute.

The sad thing is it is good the food tastes great and I've lost 4lb without any training, clear skin, more alert 'n all that jazz.

I'm having a night off tomorrow due to the massive bonfire party we have planned, where I will attempt to drink my own body weight in Guinness

It does sound serious but it is pretty much what I do, just wondered if I was trying too hard!
