Hi, i'm trying to decide between a specialised myka, at 300 pounds

and this one from halfords,

I am a believer in the idea that more cost doesn't necessarily mean better quality.
What do you think though?
I've heard the halfords bikes (the pricier ones) aren't too bad, but i've also heard good things about specialized.
Both were comfortable rides.

I would go for the Carrera as it is disc and if you wish to upgrade to hydro discs it will cost less to do. the spesh would need wheels...."Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."

The Carrera is a bit heavier but better specced - the Myka having a particularly poor fork for all but the most smooth of surfaces.
If both felt comfortable, I'd have the Carrera if doing more of road stuff, the Myka for gentle riding.0
