I have the one from Tesco which does fine for me and it was under £100
-
tesco as in supermarket?if so do they have them in all the while and does it have a gauge to get tyres up to around 120 psi thanks in advance0
-
have just looked on tescos site that pump looks too good to be true will be going after work to see if they have any may be a pain to carry though [on a mtb]0
-
track pumps aren't intended for carrying on the bike. Or do you mean just to get it back from the shop?
Presumably the 120 psi is for a road bike, not the mtb you mention?0 -
I got one of these and use it on track every week and have no problems and pump up to 140psi regularly.

I went through two cheap track pumps before buying one from On-One, which is much better quality. It's worth spending a few quid on it because it's harder to get up to high pressure with a cheap one.0

SKS Rennkompressor is the daddy of all track pumps I've used - especially if you need pressures over 140psi for track racing - the guage is a bit difficult to read, but it is built to last.
I'd also recommend the Joe Blow Sport which I had for about 5 years before it packed up.0 -
I've got a track pump but without a gauge. I cant get my car tyre pressure gauges to work with the Schrader adapter. Dont know why not, but it is not pressing the presta valve and getting a pressure reading. Is there a way of getting a reading wihout wasting money on a new pump? it works fine, but I just pump up every time until the tyre is really hard, which is a bit hit and miss.0

Those both look good.
I have the Tesco one which I keep at work and it's okay - certainly better than using a frame pump.I'm left handed, if that matters.0 -
I'm happy with my Bontrager Turbocharger - £30 from my LBS. Solidly built, has single Schrader/Presta head, also comes with adapters for footballs and airbeds.
I bought an Aldi one first but it went straight back as it was cr@p. There are times when cheap stuff is fine but wiith something like this it pays to buy a good quality item.Aspire not to have more, but to be more.0 -
thank you all for your posts on this subject have gone with the tesco one as it was only nine quid just tried it and seems ok may regret it in long run but have just brought approx three hundred quids worth of kit that i needed to get back into road bike riding and go with my road bike i have just got on the CTWS thank you all again hopefully tesco pump will last until after xmas when i can afford to get a good un :P0

I thought the second one looked a lot better0

another vote for the joeblow sport. I looked long and hard for a good pump some 2 years ago and this had great reviews and has been a very reliable pump from first out of the pack. I believe I bought from wiggle and it still looks the cheapest

I got the Tesco one, £8 I think, but im not sure if its works poperly.
The fit is very tight on the value, and to my cost ive ripped a inner tube trying to take it off the value!!Cycling never gets any easier, you just go faster - Greg LeMond0 -

SKS Rennkompressor is the track pump to get. Made from steel It can pump up to well over 160psi and you can buy the spare rubber washers for the connector. The design hasn't changed for years because its heavy duty and it works.Bike shops and teams all use them. The cost would be over £40 I guess but it would be a great investment.0

i have the airport maximum ...

but depends what u are after ... saving £20 to look a bit further down at the guage seems a no-brainer to me!
and before anyone starts ... the £15 one wasn't available when i got mine and i only paid £25 for it0 -
