Hi, what is the best road bike to get? baring it mind i am use to a hybrid between a mountain bike and a road bike, http://www.winstanleysbikes.co.uk/produ ... _Bike_2008, Dawes XC 1.2 Mens Bike (2008)

Im only 16 and havnt got a job, so anything under £325, would be great.
Is there any kind of road bike that has suspension? i weigh alot (90 KG)
and everyone knows the britains roads are crap and full of potholes, so logically every pot hole = a puncture with my weight.

Thanks for your help
Leo

    Leo,

I wouldn't worry about your weight too much. I have been over 100kg on a road bike and whacked a few big pot-holes with no damage. In terms of road bikes you will not find any with suspension as that adds extra weight and every bit of springyness in the frame takes energy from the riders' stroke....these things are supposed to be lightweight racing machines.
17 Stone down to 12.5 now raring to get back on the bike!

I think Halfords do a cheap range of road bikes as do Chain Reaction.

To avoid punctures ride round the potholes :)

Now would be a good time to look in Halfords for a cheap bike, with some very good deals
