Shimano cassette options

Looking for a new cassette for my Dura Ace wheels. I was thinking of Ultegra or 105. Is there any reasons for choosing one over the other in terms of perfomance. From what I can see they are pretty similar? Should I consider Dura Ace?
Also with regards to the range. I currently have a 12-27t but find sometimes wanting a gear that is simply not there. I do not tend to use the last few gears much so was considering a Ultegra 16-27t. Does this soound like a sensible option for someone who does not race and is not overly confident doing breakneck speeds? I would always have the old 12-27t as a spare if I ever needed to go mad!
Many thanks.

are we talking 9 or 10 speed?
12-25 and 12-27 are very similar - only the last two sprockets are different: 23,25 versus 24, 27 (on both speeds)
have a look at http://www.sheldonbrown.com/gears/
you can play around with your gearing and then decide.
Personally, I tend to go with Ultegra. DA is a bit lighter but quite a bit more expensive too. Depends how deep your pockets are. I tend to invest in stuff that doesn't wear out, like frames/stems etc.
see http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Mode ... elID=13592 for quite a few 10spd Ultegra optionsFacts are meaningless, you can use facts to prove anything that's remotely true! - Homer0 -
I think 16-27 will leave you very short on the high end. You'll be missing about the first four spokets of your current setup.
If you want to go higher than 27, SRAM do a 28 in 9 and 10 speed, which works ok
