I'd like to use this thread to highlight any obvious propaganda and misinformation that the Times is peddling. When I was young the Times was regarded as the paper of record, objective, intelligent and beyond reproach. Today it seems to have the news values of the Daily Express and is happy to peddle almost any bilge which the Home Office or MI6 feed it however preposterous. Here are some examples:

There must be a lot more that I have missed and I think we should highlight it. What, for instance happened to the Telegraph story about documentary proof about Galloway taking bribes from Saddam (which again seems to have been entirely fabricated).
To be clear I'm not a Guardian-reading conspiracy theorist in fact I used to be an army officer, generally have right-wing views and used to work in Intelligence.
I belive a free and truthful press is fundamental to a free society and the Times is now the Fagin of Fleet St. I've tried writing to the letters pages and posting on the website accordingly but its all been suppressed. I assume that Future publishing is unlikely to suppress this post!?
