Brooks Saddle in winter
Hello,
I've had my Brooks Swift Ti since last summer, and I am infinitely happy with this piece of equipment.
Now as it's getting colder, I am wondering if it might be a good idea to mount my old saddle, especially because my bike is stored outside, even at night.
I read somewhere that there are guys who do not ride their Brooks' in winter, as this might do some damage to the leather.
Wet is not that much of a concern, since I mount mudguards (SKS-raceblades), which prevent the underside of the saddle from getting wet.
Can you share experiences with Brooks' ridden in the cold/winter?
Best regards

You should have no problems in my experience as long as you cover the saddle with a shower cap or something similar overnight.0

A brooks specific saddlecover can be bought too, not that expensive. Less likely to blow off in a wind.

I've been using my present Brooks in all weather for about 10 yrs.If it gets soaked I bring it indoors (from garage) to let it dry. Then I apply "Leder Gris"(like shoe polish) which is for proofing leather boots/jackets.Leave it for a few hours then brush and buff. For the underside I use linseed oil.Just pour a fair bit on and brush it in,it's soon absorbed.0
