  • Really classic, I watched the whole race on Belgian TV

Nys dislocated his finger, then finished second, i think, in the Superprestige today (to Albert who is looking pretty damn good).

Only recently started following cross, but it is so entertaining. Looking forward to watching in person for the first time, was planning to go yesterday, but the weather...

The Koppenberg cross was the best example why cross is so much more interesting than the sterile world of track...

    :)

The races from Manchester looked pretty exciting, too exciting for 3/4 of the Russian team pursuit squad.
As a spectator, you're not stood in a cold, wet wood either!
Remember that you are an Englishman and thus have won first prize in the lottery of life.

I'm sure it was exciting. For me cycling is an outdoor sport, but to each their own.
  • Watched this race from the comfort of my hotel room in Bruges - it was mental, there was one downhill off camber R hander that everybody seemed to crash on every time they went round. The mud was so slippery that spectators were having difficulty walking.

It was also 1st sporting item on the news - ahead of F1 and football. 8)

  • Seen from the bottom of the hill you realise how steep that corner is, so no wonder.

Was there a ladies race this year (or have they more sense)?

the video has made me want to do 'cross in 2009. It looks tough and deeply unpleasant.

Check 'wedstrijdverslag' under 'video'.... especially towards the end
  • Good bit on the Belgian TV coverage was straight after the end of the race, all the top three warmed their hands collectively in a same bucket of water in the finish tent :)

Can't believe how many fans were out there in the snow. and it was competing (on terrestrial TV and live) with the (sell out) final session of the Ghent 6. Those crazy Belgians.
