i have just done a week of riding with them in wales for the first time with them in my strokers, i prefer them over the standard hayes pads which i have used 2 sets of these pads, then superstar pads seem to give a lot more bite, will see how they go with time,0

using their sintered pads and they are spot on, cheap and effective a rare combination.0

they are very good value, i think i got 4 sets of stroker pads for 20 quiid which would have cost me £60 from CRC0
-
they don,t last 2 rides at this time of year & thats if your one of the lucky ones.
the backing separated from the pad surface on x2 sets.
far east junk.hope will not even warranty pads with brakes returned with them in.says it all really.
i wouldn,t touch his pedals either no better.0 -
Value for money wise they are excellent, they don't last as long, aren't as well made as OE pads, maybe slightly thicker (Avid pads) and sometimes have been it has been known for the pads and backing to part company. But for what they cost they are excellent (and you are less likely to end up crying when you contaminate a brand new set with oil etc. ).It's easier to ask for forgiveness than for permission.
I've bought a new bike....ouch - result

I have been using them for about a year now. Originally I did have one pad where the material separated from the backing plate in use, replaced by Superstar very promptly. However that didn't give me loads of confidence in the brand! I have been tempted back by the price, and also promises that the failures were limited to one batch. So far I haven't had any further problems and I have probably got through 10 sets in the last 12 months.
I have just started using some of there sintered pads, and they seem fine, slightly less bite than the standard ones, but do last longer. Although I did wear one set set pretty much down to the backing material in one ride - that was after 12 hours at a very wet Dusk 2 Dawn, so not a bad performance considering.0 -
I think they are great.
More power and less squeaks than the original Avid pads and a LOT cheaper.0 -
Another thumbs-up for the sintered ones here :P More bite/less squeel than the Avid OE's.0

Never had a problem with them... last service i had some Avid blocks put in, 4 weeks later i was through to the back. I have replaced with Super* and they are still going strong.
I have got some sintered so i'll put them in when these are done.'to give anything less than your best is to sacrifice the gift' Steve Prefontaine

As always, many & varied opinions! Make sure you bed them in or you won't get a good life out of any pads. Another make I've tried & like are from bikefridge on ebay - as cheap as Superstar, and seem to last ages with good power. I've not used the Superstar pads though. I ride a lot, so they get a good amount of use. I use Hope mono minis by the way and the bikefridge pads are only in organic for these, but I can't tell the difference in use. They do sintered & other compounds for other brakes.0

mine were crap i bought 3 sets and got through them in a month. yeh theyre cheap but what do you expect for rubbish pads. allways felt sloppy when using them. in the middle of a ride one of the pads lost the bit that touches rotor.
not worth it.0 -

I have never understood that concept. I always thought bedding in the pads was more about wearing them to fit flat to the rotor which is why after bedding in they stop better as there is more pad in contact with the rotor? It's easier to ask for forgiveness than for permission.

Partly that, but mainly gets them nice & hot, which hardens the material, giving better life & power. Don't understand the science of how you get more life AND better power, but it seems to work. Although Hope used to recommend putting mud on them to bed in, I've found it's best to find a hill and do a series of stops on hard braking.
You can see the difference between a bedded in set of pads & a new set, The new ones look softer.0
