How good was the Armitstead, cracking performance, 3 wins!

And I thought the womens sprint team, Blythe & Varnish did a great job too, very professional and very inspirational.

If anything the womens side of team GB is looking a tad more healthy than the mens.
That's just an observation and my opinion, nothing meant by it!

    Could be interesting?

Who would win the Rant at motorist section, or

the ride obliviously through all red lights - wonder if they would also win the pavement riding event

I hear no one has ever successfully defended the riding up the inside of left turning vehicles event though

  • Kudos to Jason Kenny for bum-sliding to win the Mens Sprint - whoever has 'British Olympians do it sitting down' in their sig - you were proven right again!

What annoyed me was the complete lack of coverage British Cycling got on the news for basically pasting the opposition on the track.

I expected Hamilton to skip past them, but on the radio this morning they mentioned Lewis, Paula Radcliffe (fair play), some football (grrr... ok, ok), and some golf dude... but not the cycling!! Some golf dude? FFS.

I think my fave camera angle of that was the one set down by the line, it was quite bizarre to watch them both sliding past

At least there was no damage, or didn;t seem that way anyway.

The Russian pile up, courtesy of the commentators curse, was potentially rather nasty, think they got away with it as well.

Does anyone know if/where you can buy tickets for the Worlds in Poland next year - I can't see anything online

....and then to claim the victory whilst led down still clipped to the bike.
I've added a signature to prove it is still possible.

LIT I have to agree with you, but we are still in a car driven economy, and that is where the bias comes from IMHO
Sickening, that true athletes are not acknowledged, but sitting in a car turning left and right is :?

  • DvG, I agree, I didn't mind about Lewis and Paula taking the headlines, and was not surprised about the football, but the golf guy winning some golf thing really annoyed me!

After the heroes welcome from the Olympics, you'd think they might get in the news a little bit.

    Also, you might like this.

Safe for work. Unless giggling will get you into trouble.

I'm safe on the giggling front at the moment as I'm just getting over a huge fit of the giggles after my phone rang and someone asked if this was the fruit and veg department... :?

We have a very liberal giggling policy here, which is a good job :D
I was visiting a friend on Sunday evening as the Fomula Yawn was on TV, he's a bit of a fan so I was subjected to it. However we both particularly enjoyed the pitlane Totty Watch :D
Not as good as the Velodrome Totty watch though

I thought his post slide victory celebration was hilarious. Top man.
Lizzie Armistead was amazing. Just rewards after a couple of stunning domestique rides in the last two World RR championships.

Not really surprised about the lack of news items on the beeb. The 606 forums are normally full of complaints about lack of coverage when the cyclists do well at events other than the TdF, Olympics or Worlds.
