Jump/street forks

Hi I have a Cannondale Chase and want to get some lighter forks but im wondering what is the max travel for this bike and what would be good choices, I know argyles are always recommended but thought a little more travel might be nice for a little freeriding or sumat, like maybe Pikes or Talas? Also Ill prolly need new wheels for a T axle so any recommends for this area would be preciated, have been lookin at the purple haze halos but dunno much others. (edit as a side thought, reckon Deemax would be overkill for jump street wheels, bit over my budget but very nice, thanks)
Cheers in advance

so the current forks are?"Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."

Definitely Pikes, Talas is just way too much for what you need and would just be a waste of money i'd say. Pike 426 U-turn and Halo SAS wheels is a good choice, or get some Mavic EX721's built up onto Hope Pro 2's.0

I have dj 3s at the moment, they are ok the front end weighs a ton tho and I think they are the main culprit.Who is more foolish, the fool or the fool who follows him...0

what year DJ 3's?"Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."

For jump/street you do not need anymore than 100mm of travel, but bear in mind that the Chase frames do have very low BBs and this could be a hinderance on some street obstacles.Less gears, more beers.0

08 dj 3s I believe.Who is more foolish, the fool or the fool who follows him...0

one of the lighter DJ years.
one problem you will have is losing strength when things go wrong.
the Argyles will save you all of just over 100 grams for the 302, no saving (well one or two g) with the 318 but with the 409 about 250grams"Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."

i have dj 2 08's and theyre so good never let me down...... and you can buy them for only £99 from merlincycles (with bolt through axle). awesome combo with halo wheels. halo are normally quite heavy thogh. dj2's aint that heavy and are just awesome for dirt + street.0

true bout the argyles which is why I looked at the pikes, if seen them on locals to the jumps if been to and also Sam pilgrim head uses em so they must be decent and they are like 2 lbs lighter. I know the sas are heavy also but i'm not really sure of my options for jump/street/general abuse. Looked at spank but xpensive/hard to get hold of. Think if narrowed it down to either the sas or the freedoms that chris smith uses unless any1 has any pearls of wisdom to share?
Thanks

Pikes are not jump forks. they are AM and 4Xish.
you have to consider this Sponsored riders can replace what they break as it does not cost them.
stick with what you have and you will build your body up fast and then you will be able to take advantage of the lighter weight later.
Better than going to the gym."Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."

Forget the Pikes and the Talas for definite. If you want a really versatile fork the Argyles are the way to go.0

cheers guys, any ideas about which wheels to get for around 200 then or any very good ones for more. I'll hang onto the DJS for a while then. Thanks for the advice everyone.
