Blackburn Air Stick AS1 problems

I have bought the service kit for my Blackburn Air Stick AS1, and fitted it. It does not work :? so I have done something wrong. Points may be which way up does the inner aluminium tube with small hole go, and how are the small valves O rings and springs fitted near the head.
I’ve tried to figure out the air flow but my little head can’t cope. Any help really appreciated. I’ve searched for diagrams on the net without success.
If you have done this successfully let me know. Or alternatively perhaps you’d be kind enough to dismantle your own air stick and have a look. :oops:
