Why don't roadies use rucksacks?

    Come on guys, lets be honest, this is a fashion thing. Why do mountain bikers and roadies wear such different clothing its not all down to practicality.

    Mountain bikers sit in a more upright position. This keeps the weight of the rucksack on their hips. Leaning forward on a road bike makes the load unstable.
    On numerous 100 mile plus rides I've never needed to carry more than I could accomodate in my jersey pockets and a seat pack.
