I'm travelling in the Summer through the Alps and will need to transport my bike by bus occasionally.

Do they allow you to transport your bike and if so is it bike bag or just bike

Thanks

I've used French local buses a lot and all have taken bikes (and bike bags). One bus which was a people carrier squeezed my bike in at the back. I haven't used French buses for long journeys.
  • On local buses, it depends on the driver, how crowded the bus is...
For long regional journeys, they won't take your bike as it is but will reluctantly allow you to put a bike bag in the "soute" (bus cargo compartment) Erm, needless to say adequate padding is required here...
