Cove Handjob XC Paint quality?

Evening all...
Just put my new handjob frame together this week and the build went fine until I put the rear caliper onto the frame. The paint cracked as I did the bolts up (less than the correct torque, running avid 5's) and the paint just fell on the floor...
Now I know its only paint and I know that over time, chips and scratches will happen, but hey when a frame costs £400 I would have thought that the paint would be better?
Anybody else had this problem?
Regards,
Paul.

i had a stiffee frame a while back and i had a rather large patch underneath where there was no paint just bare metal.
i have heard that cove are just generally not the best for their paintjobs. bit of a bummer when you have just forked out for a decent frame really :?Go big or go home!!

Thanks for the replies.
I had some feedback from silverfish which is worth a try.
Try using some washers between the bolts and frame, this will help stop the twist on the powder coat as we do them up. Also the use of the wifes/girlfriends nail varnish, Hmm - I'm sure shes got some bright orange somewhere... .
Cheers,
