Scott Aspect Fork Length

Im looking at buying some cheap Rockshox Recons from Merlin to put on my Scott Aspect 55. The forks on it at the moment are pretty rubbish.
I noticed you can get the fork with either 100mm or 120mm of travel. My current fork has 100mm, but I would quite like that extra bit of travel, so I can push the bike a bit harder.
What I'm wondering is whether this extra travel would muck around with the geometry too much. And will it void my warranty?
Cheers

I think Scott actually say 120mm is ok on this frame. It would make the bike slacker, more stable, but not as quick to steer, plus will more likey to pop up when climbing. Much better fork though.
Considered the Uturn version? Just dial in the travel you want!0 -
I was only really looking at that particular one (Recon 327) because it is so cheap at £110. Haven't seen the U-turn version anywhere but I think it will be around the £200 mark.
There are Tora 318s with U-turn for £130 though0 -
110, where from?! That is very good.
Tora 318 is a better fork than the Recon 327 due to the improved internals, albeit a little heavier with the steel stanchions.0 -

That is an amazing bargain!
Tora is 0.7 pounds heavier, but the damper is better, the Uturn can be useful, and the structure stiffer.
I am not sure what I'd get! Air forks allow precise set up for your weight, but usually not as smooth.0 -
Ok thanks for the help.0
