Stumpjumper rear shock issues..

I have had a knock coming from the rear shock for a while on my 07Stumpy FSR so today I took it to the LBS to fit a new bushing in the rear shock eye.

The mechanic then calls me to say that the shock has no bushing and the actual eye of the shock has opened up ! Result - new shock needed.

I am absolutely amazed that Spec do not fit a bushing in here, and am pretty pissed off to be frank.

Is this common ? Any other experiences ?

Richard

    what is the shock?

Or did he just mean that you had worn through the bushing and worn the shock out?

I've got an 06 that wore the bush out in around 200 miles!!
  • It is the standard Fox shock.

Nope there is not one in there, and never has been.....apparently none of them have a bushing...

I would love this to be wrong though...

All fox shocks have DU bushes in them.

It must have a bush or a bearing
  • 99% sure there is nothing there. So it has never had one or it has fallen out, which is impossible.....

Time to speak with a nice man at Specialized....
