I'm not sure what I find the more surprising, that someone left bike unlocked in Acton, or that the local paper can't find anything else to write about...

In our local rag a story few weeks back was about kid having his BMX stolen from his garden.
Went into detail of how he had only had it for a few weeks and it was a unique, very valuable bike costing (paper went into this detail quite a bit)........ £200
Felt sorry for the kid though - thieving pikey gits :evil:0 -
Surely leaving a bike unlocked for 10 hours is an explicit invitation to anyone who fancies it to take it? I might phone the Ealing police number and suggest they book this tosser for wasting police time.0

I vaguely remember a experiment a while back that worked out the average time in various towns before an unlocked bike was stolen.
I think Croydon (where I lived at the time) was pretty much top on about 10 minutes...0 -
I might contact the Ealing Times about Gollum -
'horrendously ugly thing resembling a bike stolen from Ealing garden as ostensibly blind girl sleeps indoors'0 -
If I wanted my bike nicked, leaving it at a tube station, unlocked, all day would be pretty high on my list of ways to get it done (if I wasn't a yokel).0

Or if you want it nicked in a hurry, just leave it in the shopping area in Croydon0 -
