I dont have my bike at work today but it is my 2007 stumpy FSR comp.

Does anyone know the width of standard dt-swiss rims on the stumpys?

Have tried searching for a site that will tell me the specs but to no avail.

Cheers for any help!

  • DT swiss X430 rims. By the looks of things they are 24mm wide.
If you're not living life on the edge, you're taking up too much room!
  • Cheers for that,

I am looking at a set of Halo rims to replace mine as I have cracked one and its my second set. I use this bike for commuting (I have no room for a commuting rig 2 mtb's take up all my spare space!) along with trail thrashing and my shennanigans on the road tend to cause me lots of wheel grief.

    24mm internal or external width?
  • Good point SS.

Looking at 28mm Halo Freedon on their new supadrive hubs. Though its probably overkill for my trail bike.

Anyone else make sweet white rims similar to the mavic 717's or dt swiss? I am keen to run with the Halo Hubs.

Why do you want the width of the rims?

If you want white, I think you've only got the Halos. Unless Syncros did an XC rim?

for a trail bike the freedoms are right.
they are just heavier than a typical XC rim but will take a reasonable battering, But dont like bad smacks the same as any rim.

  • Nick pointed me toward Freedoms...and they've done the job just fine. Need a tweak after bedding in but fine for what the press call 'AM'.
