    Bike Budi

    http://www.bikebudi.com/

A service matching up cyclists with others cycling in the same direction

Shouldn't that be called "Scalp Finder"?

Not a bad site though, it looks like they've finally got it all together in one place and made it easier to navigate

I used this site to plan my Ruislip - London Bridge commute. It was rubbish. I sat down with a map and pgot a much better route:

    London Bridge-Westminster Bridge (past Big Ben)-Buckingham Palace-Hyde Park-past Royal Albert Hall-kinghtsbridge-Nottinghill Gate-Shepherds Bush-Chiswick-Ealing (didn't see LiT on the Uxbridge Road)-Greenford -Ruislip.#

Great commute past a load of tourist attractions (I might give a tourist a backy and charge him for it this week)

Don't trust their cycle routes though :D

It seems to want me to cycle further and up hills, and it recons it will take me 32 mins longer....hmmmmmmmmmmmm

I think I'll stick to my 45 min flat commute if it's alright with you Boris :)

Oh and on the tips, it might have been better to highlight the whole left turning trucks a bit more :?

As a non-Londoner who's taken his bike up to the smoke a few times this year, I've used the tfl cycle route planner for those, and found the routes seem to swing between perfectly sensible and completely nuts. The route it gave me from Waterloo to Smithfield was fine, ditto to Earls Court and back. However, went to Olympia last week, and the inbound route it gave me was nuts. All round the houses. Really helpful when your experience of London travel is predominantly underground & you have to look through ten bits of paper to find where to go...! The return route was much more logical, so I went that way (well, in reverse), mostly.
Still handy, though I think probably best used in conjunction with the printed cycle guides (picked up the central one at the Cycle Show, excellent).
