Waxoyl is the most common but I think Bilt Hamber Dynax S50 is the best.0

WD40 does a fair job.
But i thought you did not have a frame now. Or is it for an other bike? new or old bike?"Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."

This is the bike specific one:

I have never used it, but have used Waxoyl in one of my frames and that was fairly easy to apply.0 -

Spray mine with Muc Off Bike Spray after every ride - doesn't stop the chain rusting but protects the frame and most components really well - the dirt just falls off!
Bit of an indulgence but well worth it - means the bike is much easier to clean.0 -
Im looking for the spray to go on the inside of the frame. I will be cleaning after each ride and im allway heavy on the wd40 post cleaning.Nothing in life can not be improved with either monkeys, pirates or ninjas

You shouldn't need to spray the inside of the frame!
And how would you manage it?!
The 456 may be steel, but it's good quality painted steel that should rust at bay for years and years. My 1997 steel Stumpjumper is still 100% rust free and I've never touched the inside of the frame!0 -
I'd use waxoly, and pay attention to the inside of the gusseting on the chainstays, it's a bit of a rust hotspot on the 456. Don't forget to make sure you liberally grease all the bolts before fitting them to the frame otherwise they'll sieze and possibly let water in!0

When you apply the Waxoyl try to do it on a warm day, or leave the can in a bucket of hot water before applying - It should spray easier that way. Just watch out that on a hot day in the summer you might get a bit of Waxoyl dripping out!
Having had a steel Inbred before they do tend to show a bit of rust, but it is not a problem. The worst area on mine was the bottom bracket shell. After a wet few months I took out the BB and found a load of stagnant rusty water. The frame I replaced it with has a drainage hole in the BB shell, which works well and despite lots of submerging it doesn't show any signs of rust, although it is True Temper OX Platinum tubing, compared the DN6 on the Inbred.0 -
I use scotoiler 365, you basically spray it all over your bike and it stops corrosion and dissolves road salt, it's a water based product so rain and water will wash if off so you will need to re apply if your out in the rain. It's certainly worth using and come in around £6.99.
There is also ACF 50 which puts a film between your bike and the elements, very like WD40 but it is better, it come in at about £13.99 so not the cheapest.Stevens Cyclocross
