Just fitted my new fork - a few problems!

Hi all,

Well, on the whole, fitting my new Recon's was largely a success. We couldn't get the star nut fitted correctly (no tool for this), so that'll be left for my lbs.

Secondly, as my new forks where IS mount and my old Dart2's were post mount, I bought a standard Shimano adaptor to suit. Put simply, it fits, and it doesn't. It all lines up but the new adaptor does not make my rotor line up with my pads. What the feck i'm I doing wrong? Have I bought the wrong adaptor, or is it new brake time? I have Tektro I/O mechanical disc brakes, 160/160.

Oh, and here's a few before and after photos! Also fitted my new Easton post and bars, and my new 120mm RaceFace stem. The bike now fits perfectly!

slacken the bolts that hold the calliper onto the adaptor and align the calliper.

Dont forget to back of the pads/pistons first.

read the set up info on parktools.

    Thanks Nick,

Apologies for posting in the wrong section. It's been a good day though, learnt a lot about my bike, and the bits making it work.

You must be bored now, with 37000 odd posts???:lol:

And most of them sorting out monkeys like me!
